Summary :
POINT OF VIEW : HEALTH
Achieving Walkable Cities
City
have many citizens
with many different characters. To make the cities green, have clean air
should be designed or redesigned to meet
one aspect that will
make them greener : Walkability.
Increasing the number of clean and safe parks, sustainable
public transport, recreational facilities, shops and services has increased
daily walking and consequently delivered healthier lifestyles. And walkable
cities benefit businesses too.
So companies can take advantage of the increasing pedestrian traffic. Providing clean,
safe sidewalks increases the number of pedestrians in a business district,
encourages leisurely browsing and leads to unplanned purchases, which are good
for local merchants.
Unfortunately, in some places lack of walkability almost make them inclusive, green , livable or sustainable.
Many pedestrians go
on foot and run without caring environment when some of them walk on the grass. And often pedestrians also cover the beauty of the city when they go to the
crowding.
In my opinion, the
citizens should keep the city clean and prevent them from air pollution. It is
better for the citizens to go some where near their house on foot or by
bicycle. Unless the distance is really far.
